The School Smiles dentist is returning to our school on April 20th for dental cleanings. If you missed the dentist’s first visit, there is still time to get your student signed up for our upcoming visit! Please visit https://schoolsmiles.com/student-signup/ to sign-up today! A new form needs completed each school year to remain in the program, but if you have already completed a form for the 2025-26 school year, you do not need to sign-up again. School Smiles accepts Medicaid, private insurance, and offers self-pay rates for those who may be uninsured.

Please see the message from Nurse Shayna!

Hello Families!
Here are a few friendly reminders, as we are in the thick of illness. Please keep in mind anytime you send your student to school sick, you are putting everyone else at risk, including other students, our staff, and their families.

If your student has a fever, they are to stay home until they are 24 hours fever free without the use of fever reducing medications.

If your student is vomiting or has diarrhea, they are to stay home until they are 24 hours event free without medications. Nurse Shayna sends home for vomiting and diarrhea on a case by case basis, but if your student does not have chronic stomach problems, they should not be sent to school vomiting or having diarrhea.

If you have to give your student tylenol, motrin, or zofran to get through the school day, they should not be sent to school.

Ways to prevent illness are frequent hand washing, separating family members who are sick as best as you can, washing all bedding, backpacks, reusable water bottles, and jackets frequently, cleaning high touch surfaces in your home frequently, and opening the windows in your home when feasible.

If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to reach out to me or Nurse Shayna.

Perfect attendance certificates for the month of January have been passed out and are coming home today. Students who have been present everyday for the month and have not signed in late or signed out early earned a free kids meal to Mr. Gattis! Some of the certificates say valid at the Elizabethtown location while others say Leitchfield location. They accidentally gave me some that say Leitchfield location. I have called to check and the owner said they will honor both!!! No worries at all!! Congratulations to the 281 students who have been present everyday in January!!!

Families, We would like to let you know that our Books & Breakfast event is now being moved to next week. Dates will now be: 2/17/26-for 2 day PREK, Kindergarten, 2nd & 4th grade students. 2/18/26-for 3 and 5 day PREK, 1st, 3rd & 5th grade students. Safety for our families and staff members will always be our top priority when planning events. There are still several parking lot areas that are not safe because of unmelted ice that has caused slick spots as well as large snow piles that take up parking spots. Your student will bring home an updated form today that we are asking you to fill out and return again. We appreciate your understanding and time to help us better prepare for this lovely event with our loved ones.
